The Race.... [Last Post!!] (#10)

Well, it makes me sad that this is the last post. :(

So, Stephanie was in the race. she was all set to go, and then BANG! Thats all she heard, then somehow she found herself paddling and kicking. She said, "I felt strong; I felt it in me for the first time, that ability to really haul. Only after my hands slammed into the edge of the pool was my sense of hearing restored." The someone yelled, "Ladies and Gentlemen, we have a winna!" she didnt know who it was. She was distracted, trying to breath. "for the first time this summer, Stephanie Klein in first place." She was very surprised. I can connect this to the world, because i that many people have done something that surprised them, when many people showed intrest.

Swiming.... (#9)

After they all took their before pictures, they went to the pool to swim race. The "I have my period" excuse wasnt going to work. One of they girls told Gina, and she said "So do I, its called a tampon." They girl replied, "My mother thinks using a tampon is a sin." one of the other counsulors heard that, and said, "Welcome to hell." I can picture the girls all complaining and Gina simply telling them to get over it.

The pictures.... (#8)

At the camp, they take before and after pictures to see how much progress they made. When Stephanie went up for her pictures, she was in her bathing suit like everyone else. She was very embarassed about her body, but she was one of the skinniest people there. I could picture her standing there, just waiting for the humiliation to be over.

Now... (#7)

Stephanie is getting used to the new schedule, but i am at the part where they are picking the jobs. There are very good benefits to the worst job, and not a lot of benefits to the easy jobs. She hopes she get a good job, because she doesnt want to have to shower last. At breakfast, lunch, and dinner your NOT alowed to share ANY food no matter what. They don't want people eating to much and other people not eating enough. Stephanie gave her milk to Kate, and they didnt get caught, but if they would have they would have had to go to bed early, which isn't good at this camp. You could fall behind, in workouts and activities and that would effect your progress. I predicted that Stephanie was going to try to switch out food, and get caught. So, for now i am wrong, but we shall see as i read on...

So far... (#6)

When Stephanie and her little sister were at the buss for the camp, they said bye to thier parents. Lea (steph's little sister) ran on the bus with her friends. Stephanie didnt know anyone. When she was on the bus was on the bus looking out the window at all the parents, she noticed hers were the skinniest out of all of them. as they pulled away, a chunky older looking girl asked her if she was a first timer. She told Stephanie that she didnt see her here last summer, so she must be. Stephanie didnt really say anything as the girl (who she later found out was Wendy and she was a CIT [counsulor in training]) rambled on about things stephanie didnt really care about. She met a girl named Kate, who was kinda rude, and knew the camp inside-out. When they got to the Camp, they were put in cabins, Stephanies was 12A on upper camp, which, by the way is were the older girls stay. It is up on a very very steep hill. Stephanie became friends with most of the girls in her cabin but she was closest to Kate. I knew (predicted) that Stephanie was going to make alot of friends because she had said she woulnt go through the summer withought any friends.

Jumping ahead! (#5)

Well, i have read a lot scince my last posts!!

Scince my last post... Stephanie ended up going to the camp, and just slep on towel, and always changed her sheets after breakfast. She said, "If anyone noticed, no one said anything." She finally out grew wetting the bed (for good), and next summer she went to another fat camp. This one is THE fat camp the book is based on. She got a list of stuff to bring and her friend Leigh helped her pack. Her mom got her and her sister trunks to put thier stuff in. Leigh wanted to go with her but she had summer school. I conect to this because, one time last summer i wanted to go to Funtown with Lindsey and Chrissy, but my cousins were here from Ohio and Vermont, and we were doing something with them. So i couldnt go.

Its been a while.... (#4)

I have gotten further in my readings! I am at a really good part, she can finnaly go to sleepaway camp, because she stopped wetting the bed. But before i get carried away... Let me start where i left off...

Stephanie gained wieght and was afraid to go back to Fran, so she went to Wieght Watchers, and she didnt like it, so she went back to Fran. Then she told the story of how she used to wet the bed, and now she is going to sleepaway camp all summer. !!!
I Predicted that Stephanie would be going to camp, because her parents had basically "trained" her to not wet the bed, because she wasnt alowed to go to camp, untill she stopped wetting the bed.

The she slept over her friend Teresa's house, and not surprisingly, she wet the bed. So now i dont no if she will be able to go to camp!! :(

Silent reading... (#3)

Today during silent reading i read about Stehpanie and how she gets sent to the principles office, because she back-talked her math teacher Mrs. Trover, because she wouldn let her go to the bathroom. Mrs. Trover thinks the kids smoke in the bathroom. The principle tells Steph that she has so much potential and dah, dah, da-dah.... But Sthephanie says, "This isnt about potential, its about pee." Mr. Dolan (principle) gives Stephanie a detention, which makes her miss he class with Fran, so she has to go to the adult class. I visualized Stephanie sitting in Mr. Dolans office, getting a speach about how much potential she has, and how she shouldnt ruin it in eighth grade, and then her saying, This isnt about potential, its about pee. :)

Continuing in my reading... (#2)

Last night in my reading, she said how when she get on the school bus the boys all chant, "Boom-Baboom-Baboom!" When she was in spanish class her teacher Mr. Navar , made her admit she was fat in front of the whole class . So she didnt eat lunch that day and when she went home she was hungry so she gorged herself. When she went back to Fran, she had gained weight instead of lost. I Predicted that stephanie was going to gsin wieght, because from what she was saying, it sounded like she wasnt going to be returning to Fran anytime soon.

What I Am Reading About :) (#1)

Well, i am reading Moose. It is a book about a girl named Stephanie Klein who is pregnant with twins. She is two thin, and her Doctor tells her she needs to gain 50lbs. The part i am at is, she is telling the story of when she was little and how she was obese (fat, as she calls it). She goes to Fran who is a "Fat doctor" who helps her try to loose weight. Every day her mom packs her a sandwich (with wheat bread) and a fruit or veggie. She gets called moose, by the boys and popular people hence the name of the book. :) I choose this book because I took it out of the library once and decided not to read it. When we went back to look for books for this project i found it and decided to read it. It turns out, i really like it!
